I felt it was right to do this one next as it was mentioned on the last page, we spoke about it helping aid the absorption of iron but let’s look at all the other benefits.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant which basically makes it a disease-fighter. It keeps your immune system strong as it keeps cells healthy so it helps fight against things like colds and flu.
It helps wounds heal and more importantly for us it helps to keep bones and cartilage healthy.
You can find it in fruits like oranges and strawberries, in vegetables such as potatoes and yet again broccoli.
Vitamin C is also available in tablet form and is usually very inexpensive, I take a tablet daily as well as using my diet. I don’t know if I am over-consuming but if I am I have never had any ill effects.
Side effects of over-consumption would be again stomach pain and diarrhoea.
