3. Wealthy Affiliate
The very reason I can do what I love!
A few short years ago I would never have dreamt that I would have my own website that details my journey with arthritis and my fight back against the disease.
And I have loved developing the website, documenting my successes and offering tips and advice to other fighters.
The fact is I didn’t have a clue how to develop a website or attract people to the site, that is where Wealthy Affiliate came in.
While trawling the internet wondering how to earn money from home online I came across Wealthy Affiliate and there 7-day free trial.
There was no need to enter card details which always pleases me. I hate the programs online that tell you it’s free but then want your card details anyway.
After 4 days of my 7-day free trial, I had signed up.
In that time my site was built. it was up and running and I had learnt an astonishing amount about how websites work and how affiliate marketing works.
A quick run-through
For those that don’t know about affiliate marketing, I will give a very basic overview.
When you have a website that has visitors (traffic) you can then promote products. It’s usually best to promote products you have had firsthand experience with and that you trust and believe in.
A lot of businesses and products have affiliate programs in this day and age, there are so many websites and people browsing the internet that affiliates help to spread a message or a product.
You apply to whatever affiliate program you like and promote the products using links they provide you with.
Then if a person purchases the product from clicking on your link, you will get a percentage of the sale from the company.
That is a very basic way of describing it, Wealthy Affiliate has so much training that goes into just about everything you need to know to become a successful marketer.
The beauty of this for me was that I was suggesting products I use anyway then as soon as you get enough visitors to your site as I did, you can get links that can earn you little commissions.
Again I haven’t managed to accrue enough earnings to retire but the little and often is nice to see and reinforces the point that the earnings could soon snowball into a substantial income.
The benefits have been awesome!
Honestly, I have learnt so much since joining Wealthy Affiliate or WA as it is affectionately called by its 300,000+ members.
There is so much first-class training on there that a complete novice like I am can go on to build a website and produce articles that people actually read and enjoy!
If that isn’t enough, the members are incredible human beings who believe in giving and helping one another.
It makes you feel a part of a wonderful community who all help each other to reach their goals.
Very successful marketers are on their dishing out free advice and tips as well as producing training videos of their own.
They don’t just make 5-6 figures a month and think stuff everyone else I don’t need to help them, they are always on hand to help.
Another wonderful thing is you don’t even have to sign up if you don’t want to, by the end of your 7-day trial your website will be set up and you can go it alone if you are confident enough.
Signing up appealed to me because of the amount of support you get for the inner workings of the website and of course the incredible WA community and ongoing training.
There are new training videos literally every week giving you magical tips and tricks.

I have earned some extra money, learnt some new skills and made some incredible friends! I have also earnt money whilst being asleep which is pretty cool.
The truth is nearly all the websites you visit will be earning money from their website in some way whether that be from adverts, products or both.
If you have a passion you want to write about you can consider making your own site and earning money from it yourself, you can do it anywhere with your laptop and an internet connection.
Both Mike Cruickshanks betting systems and Wealthy Affiliate has made me extra money that means I only need to work part-time.
That gives me the time to work on my arthritis recovery and the money to put towards it.
It gives me the hope that if I continue to develop these new skills it will eventually lead me to success and more financial freedom.
